We are seeking a Compliance Manager - Nordics to join our team in Malta, and be responsible for the compliance operations of NSUS Malta Ltd in the Nordic markets. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure compliance with all applicable rules in the Nordics, and lead the licensing process where relevant. You will be the organisation’s main advisor on Nordic compliance, including managing the licence conditions, reporting obligations, liaising with the regulator/s, drafting and implementing policies and procedures, and licence maintenance. You will be required to oversee and manage the tasks and issues in a timely manner, and be proactive in taking the lead on all matters relating to compliance matters in the Nordic markets.

Objectives:

  • Regulatory & Licensing Management:
  • Be responsible for the licensing process for gambling licences in Nordic markets;
  • Be the main advisor for all matters relating to compliance in Nordic territories, and assist on other markets as may be required;
  • Be proactive to identify, deal with, and escalate non-compliance situations to remediate as quickly as possible;
  • Serve as the main contact point with the competent Nordic regulators;
  • Build and maintain a relationship with the gambling regulators and other relative authorities;
  • Maintain a close relationship with our legal advisors;
  • Be responsible for the timely submission of all reports to the Nordic gambling, tax authorities and other competent authorities;
  • Undertaking the end to end process of performing audits and reviews as and when required;
  • Fulfill any compliance positions required with the regulator, as may be requested by the company;
  • Proactively review product and advertising to ensure compliance;
  • Provide additional support where required.

  • Operations & Policies:
  • Draft, manage and maintain all policies and procedures in Nordic markets, including those relating to AML and RG, and ensure that the respective teams are knowledgeable of the policies, ;
  • Guide the AML & RG processes for the Nordics, together with the relevant teams;

  • Internal Guidance & Support:
  • Provide compliance advice, guidance and training to the company and company employees;
  • Liaise with other departments within the company as may be required to fulfil the role;
  • Assist the Technical Compliance team where necessary; 
  • Keep senior management up to date on regulatory updates and ensure compliance is maintained;
  • Assist the Customer Support, RG & AML teams on complex cases which require the compliance team’s feedback;
  • Translate documents and information from English to a Nordic language, and vice-versa, as may be required by the company.

Key Skills:
  • At least 2 years proven experience within a gambling compliance role for the Swedish market;
  • Fluency in at least one Nordic language (ideally native speaker; Swedish is preferred), and English fluency;
  • In-depth knowledge of the Nordic gambling market and relative regulations, including anti-money laundering, consumer law and anti-money laundering law;
  • Knowledge of the general Gambling industry - poker knowledge is preferred;
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
  • Willingness to learn;
  • Manage own workloads and meet deadlines determined by the urgency of requests;
  • Strong organsiational skills;
  • Attention to detail e.g. accurate capture of data;
  • Analytical and risk assessment skills;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Flexible and the ability to develop compliance methodologies;
  • Interacts with stakeholders in a professional, service-orientated manner.
